Fourth of July
The Winterville Center will be closed on Independence Day, July 4th. The office will be closed, and all classes canceled. We will reopen Monday, July 8th.
July Potluck Luncheon
This month’s potluck luncheon will be on July 11th instead of the first Thursday due to the Independence Day holiday. It will be at 12 p.m. Lindsey Cartier of Project F.R.E.E. (UGA) will be our guest speaker regarding healthy relationship programs for families, singles, foster parenting, and co-parenting in Clarke, Elbert, Madison, Oconee, and Oglethorpe Counties. Bring your favorite dish to share
Summer Art Reception
A new art show has been put on display at the Winterville Center! The reception for the summer art show will be on Thursday, July 11th from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Chess Club
Chess club and tournaments will be off for the summer while students are out of school. Stay tuned for chess club to resume!
Children’s Nature Workshops
July 15th (9:30 am to 10:30 am): Denise Plemmons from Athens-Clarke County Recycling will do multiple activities for kids, including a lesson, craft, reader theater, and a relay. There will also be a visit from a special costumed character.
July 22nd (9:30 am to 10:30 am): Seth Hawkins from the Georgia Forestry Commission will help kids plant a tree at the Winterville Center. He will also lead a short lesson. The program will include a visit from a special costumed character.
July 25nd (9:30 am to 10:30 am): Cecile Riker and Jackie Sherry from the Athens-Clarke County Water Conservation and Stormwater will be on hand with a lesson, craft, and a live frog.
